Chapter 20

“I am not exactly sure why the Navy relented and sent Steve on this mission, but I am very certain of why Steve felt honor bound to go. One of the few Rangers assigned to duty at that compound was my sister’s husband, Jason Hunter. I’m sure you remember the time you saw him board a helicopter with his brother to head into a blinding snowstorm to search for Steve after he was abducted by that terrorist. Jason and his brother Brad searched three days, found Steve and brought him back to me. They saved Steve’s life, plain and simple.

I suspect that Steve called in every favor, and exerted any and all pressure he could manage on his commanding officers to be allowed on this mission. Steve holds his nation, and his family, in the highest regard. He loves my sister and respects her husband, Jason.
