Steve smiled as he looked at the nervous woman. “Is the Marine that’s recording your request your boyfriend or husband?” asked Steve. “I certainly don’t want to have a jealous Marine after me.”

“He’s my brother. We’re both going home on leave. We’ve been overseas and haven’t been home in almost a year,” replied the woman as she watched Steve’s face for his reaction.

“Is he going to the Ball?” quizzed Steve.

“Kyle? He doesn’t have a date, and no real prospects,” answered the woman.
