Chapter 35
When they pulled into the town of Hazlewood, there were vendors selling hotdogs, hamburgers, and numerous snacks. They knew that Jordan’s riders would be coming through around one o’clock and had all kinds of food cooked and ready to eat.
They had a large sign made and held it for the group to see. Jordan immediately had Charlie pull in. She ran up to one of the men holding the sign and spoke to him briefly. Then she handed the man a card and went to the people dishing out the food.
“It’s all taken care,” called Jordan as she squirted ketchup on a big burger. “They’ll send us a bill. Everyone riding with us eats for free!”
It took a while for the few hundred riders to get their burgers and/or hotdogs and drinks. “That church group was raising money for a family with a child that needs a kidney. All profits go toward helping the little boy. I think our company will send something extra in the check when we pay the bill,” whispered Gwen into Steve’s ear as they rode
