Gloria’s reaction surprised me. She looked uncomfortable for a moment and then shrugged. A heavy silence filled the air, and I could feel my heart racing, regretting my question.

“Can we not talk about my relationship with Victor?” she finally said, sounding a bit frustrated. The tension grew between us.

I realized I had crossed a line and felt the weight of my mistake. I scrambled to apologize, my voice shaky. “I’m really sorry, Gloria. I didn’t mean to pry or make you uncomfortable. I shouldn’t have brought it up. Please forgive me.”
