Chapter 31. Arrivals (2)
My mother-in-law opens the door for us, and JaeMin sighs again as he sits carefully on the bed, then lies down.
I pick up the sheet at his feet and lift it, covering his legs until it reaches his belly button.
"Hey," I call out, seeing him look at me with sadness. "Are you okay?"
"I want to go back home," he says. "I can't stand being here anymore."
"Dr. Kim said that if you stay calm, it will happen, didn't he?"
"It's been weeks, JunKoo... I stay here, and I don't know what's really happening outside. I want to go out, see the sun, see people. I want to paint, I want our bed..."
I shake my head, sitting next to him and hugging him, trying to comfort him. It's not easy to see him having all these melancholic relapses, and I fear that JaeMin will worsen during this time he spends here, but I have to make him feel better in any way I can.
