Chapter 52. Choices (5)

JunKoo nodded in the end, but I knew he was holding back from shedding more tears. My already hurt heart crushed inside my chest. I had to be even stronger as I controlled my own urge to burst into tears, and I hugged him tightly. JunKoo immediately returned the embrace and let out a sigh as he pressed his nose against my neck.

"I love you," I heard him say.

I didn't want to be making this decision, even knowing that my relationship could indeed end. But JunKoo needed this and so did I. Knowing that the man I love, with whom I have a life and want to live with until the end, was kissed by another guy, is too much right now. The lie only makes everything worse, so I need to stay away for a while.

But JunKoo is intelligent. He is kind and knows how to make good choices. The only problem lies in his way of not wanting to hurt anyone and always trying to find a solution for something completely absurd.
