Chapter 91. Cutting Corner
Mia didn’t waste a second but hurried to the parking lot. The rain has stopped but the weather is cold.
Dave told her over the phone that he needed help to get rid of the First Family. The way he sounded on the phone looks like he’s under duress.
She hops into the car and starts it. As she was about to reverse, she caught a glimpse of a hooded figure from their rear mirror.
Fear ran its fingers down her spine as she flicked around with haste. There’s no sign of anyone.
She breathed a sigh of relief and turned back to continue with her driving. Just as she was about to reverse, her sigh was drawn to a figure dressed in a dark hooded cloak standing a few paces away from her.
“Creepy night,” she mumbled.
Mia never wanted to get out of the car. She’s in a hurry and needs to be with Dave at the moment to set things right. She ignored whoever might be standing some few paces away from the car and engaged the gear in reverse.
