Chapter 278. The Chronicle of Hades & His Affection
The fourth child and eldest son of Kronos, Hades has been vying for control of the worlds, including the world beyond and other realms, by claiming the lost book of Anubis. He is the Titans' king and the head of Mount Othrys, together with his sister-wife Rhea. His father Kronos had swallowed his three sisters, Hestia, Demeter, and Hera, before him, out of fear that one of his own offspring would usurp him, just as his own father had done with his own offspring. Rhea had hoped that Kronos, being his first son and heir, would spare him.
But this did not allay Kronos's suspicions, and he went on to swallow him whole as well. Thus, Hades and his sisters were born undigested into their father's stomach, where their younger brother Poseidon would later join them following his own birth. Soon, Rhea would become pregnant with Zeus, the third son and sixth child of her and Kronos.
