Chapter 65
I glared at Talisca, his arrogant demeanor fueling my determination. I needed to find Lorenzo, to bring him to justice for the lives he had taken and the chaos he had caused. But Talisca’s words struck a nerve, his laughter echoing in my ears.
“You think you can scare me, Talisca?” I retorted, my voice laced with conviction. “I’ve faced dangerous criminals before, and I’ve always come out on top. Lorenzo may be elusive, but I won’t rest until I’ve caught him.”
Talisca’s laughter subsided, replaced by a cold, calculating gaze. “You have no idea what you’re up against,” he sneered. “Lorenzo is a ghost, a mastermind. He slips through the cracks, leaving a trail of destruction behind him. You’re nothing compared to him.”
I leaned in closer, my eyes locked with Talisca’s. “I may not be as notorious as Lorenzo, but I have something he lacks—dedication. I won’t stop until he’s behind bars, no matter what it takes.”
Talisca scoffed, his voice dripping with contempt.
