Chapter 22. You Hurt Her

“The factory,” Diana said while they stood beneath the hotel awning. “Helena. Kate. Trevor knows I challenged his approval. Helena told him to stop contacting the supplier.”

“And Daphne knew about the inspection.”

He said it before she could. Diana looked at him.

“Are you checking her access too?”

“Yes. I’m not leaving her out because I’ve known her for years.”

Gabriel sent the message to Charles and called Kate. He didn't ask her to reopen the payment. Diana listened while he requested a list of everyone who could view the supplier schedule, then spoke to the local security contact about checking the hotel’s private terrace before they used it.

“I wanted to walk for a while,” she said when he finished.

“I know.”

She hated how disappointed she was. She had spent the morning untangling other people’s decisions. She wanted an hour in the city that didn’t involve an invoice or a lie.
