Chapter 35
Joana's POV
The dangerous brother appeared at the open door of the intimate cell a few moments later, being escorted by a pair of guards. Pablo watched me with a slight shock, so he watched the doctor next to me.
"Do you really think I was joking? "I spoke in an ironic tone, sitting on the hard mattress, but of dense foam that was in that peculiar cell. The doctor was already sitting next to me, removing his work instruments from a small suitcase. Pablo Soares came in, suspicious. I indicated a chair with my chin. "Sit down, Pablo, let's check what's really going on with you.”
To my surprise, the prisoner sat down, still suspicious, still too cautious, but stood still in the chair. The doctor got up, putting the stethoscope in his ears.
I leaned on the bed with my palms of my hands open, evaluating the way Pablo's large body was tense by the doctor's approach and even more tense when he asked the man to take off his shirt.
