Denzel lowered his voice. "They want Cinnia. You said she and our daughter would be the bringer of death to supernatural beings. Do you think that's why they want her? Did you see something like that in your prophecy? I highly doubt that she's only being targeted as a means to get to me."
"I-I don't know. Like I told Cinnia, I only saw and felt death. I can't be sure of what it means."
"Fuck." Denzel ran his hand through his hair.
"Who wants me?" Denzel's fingers stopped in their movement.
"You heard?"
Cinnia rolled her eyes so hard that she thought it would fall out of their sockets. "I have really good hearing. Who wants me?"
"Princess..."
Cinnia's hard stare bore into him. "Fine. You don't want to tell me." She faced Kai. "You. Who wants me?"
Kai rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous chuckle leaving his lips. "Well..." His eyes flicked up to meet Denzel who shook his head.
