Chapter 2

Miranda Duran sat up quickly from the third quarter of the bed. Her eyelids were still tired, but she had an interview to prepare for. She yawned loudly and scratched her armpit uncomfortably. She got out of bed and ran her fingers through her unkempt hair. She grumbled since she was still tired but needed to get dressed. Her eyes widened in surprise as she examined the wall clock: it was 8:40 a.m., and the interview was set for 9:00 a.m.

She dashed to the bathroom, brushing her teeth and taking a bath. She was doomed from the start. How did she manage to sleep that much? She hurriedly dried her hair with a towel after finishing her bath and grabbed up the cloth that had been splattered with mud the day before, despite the fact that it had been splattered with mud then she had scrubbed it and it was spotless yesterday. She gave a kind grin.

She said a silent prayer and dashed out of the room, almost colliding with Aaron, who was exiting his room as well.

“Aunty, good morning. Are you planning on attending the interview? You are running late. It’s 9:20 a.m.” Aaron scolded, pouting.

“Yes, indeed. Why didn’t you go ahead and wake me up?” Miranda smirked.

“Do you recall the last time I woke you up and you spat on me?” Aaron said something cute.

“Please accept my heartfelt apologies. What happened to your mother?” Miranda inquired, her shoe still on her foot.

“She’s in the kitchen,” says the narrator. Miranda dashed to the kitchen to get a sip of water.

“You’re running late.” Claudia was ecstatic.

“I know. I have to leave. Goodbye.” Miranda responded and bolted out of the house. The toughest part was catching a bus since she had to wait another 5 minutes for one. Her mouth fell when she arrived at the company. It was a breathtaking sight to witness. The structure was lavish, standing tall with numerous glass windows, a large parking area, and a billboard reading TEMPLETONS ENTERPRISE.

She didn’t have much time to take in the architecture, so she rushed inside and went right to the receptionist. The receptionist was a blonde, and based on the way she looked at Miranda, she didn’t appear to like her; she snorted and led Miranda to the fifth floor where the interview was held.

Miranda rushed to the elevator, eagerly waiting for it to take her up. When it squeaked, she stepped out and found herself on a different floor. She was startled to see that there was no interview going on.

She smiled when she heard noises coming from a door at the end of the path. ‘Perhaps that was the interview room,’ she reasoned.

She moved towards it, holding her breath, but she came to a halt in front of the door and laid her heart on it. She could hear muted sounds like flesh clenching and groans.

“Yeah, yes, yes, master. Please don’t do it.” A woman’s whimper was heard by her.

Is it possible that they’re having a fling? Wasn’t this supposed to be an interview?

She was perplexed as to what they were up to. She leaned in closer to the door, but it wasn’t secured, so as soon as she placed her weight on it, it sprang open, tripping her on her leg and causing her to slip forward.

She yelled as she stumbled forward, unable to regain her equilibrium, and landed with a tremendous hit on her knees. She could feel four pairs of eyes looking down at her as the room fell silent.

Then she realized she was in the room with the moaning. She chewed her lower lip. Why was she so clumsy all the time?

She was finally doomed, oh no.

Someone was seated with his legs crossed just in front of her. He wore black leather designer shoes, which she could see.

Something knocked on her senses, and she knew who was there before she even raised her head. That icy sensation.

“What are you doing here?” says the narrator. He inquired coldly.

She slowly raised her head to confirm her thoughts. She locked eyes with him because that voice sounded familiar.

She prayed the ground would simply swallow her whole. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, who

“For the love of God! Please don’t tell me this is Andrew Templeton’s.”

The man who was meant to be her employer...

Miranda realized she was doomed. As a grin appeared on his lips, her eyes dilated in surprise.

“Are you surprised?” says the narrator. He laughed.

Her skin was as white as chalk, and she had a pale complexion.

“Get out of here.” He stated calmly. She didn’t realize he wasn’t talking to her until she spotted a lady leaving nude with a libido.

It’s no surprise she was hearing such noises. Maybe he forced her to fuck in front of him.

Miranda’s shoulders trembled due to the cold atmosphere in the room. This man had been offended by her.

She sprang to her feet and discovered a stinging cut on her knee.

“Please accept my apologies for intruding. I’m going to get started “She said, afraid to look him in the eyes. Her hands were trembling, and she couldn’t feel her legs. So she had smashed Andrew Templeton’s Lamborghini?!

“Take one more step, cupcake, and I’ll make sure you and your best friend spend the rest of your lives in prison together.” She came to a halt as she heard his menacing voice from behind her. He had no way of knowing she had a best friend. And what does she anticipate from The Templetons’ second son, who has all of the necessary networks and information? They are obscenely well-off. They have the ability to purchase two countries.

After the event, he must have conducted an inquiry on her, but it was just yesterday, and it hasn’t even been 48 hours, and he already knows a lot about her.

“Now turn around and come here!” She turned around and walked back to his front when he snarled and made her cringe.

“That’s my girl,” says the narrator. He cooed sweetly.

He got out of his seat and came towards her, and she was startled to see how near he was to her. He was so tall that he seemed to be staring down on her. He stood 6 feet tall and had amazing arbs. The arbs,.

“Sir, you are standing so near,” she coughed uneasily.

He grinned slyly and resumed his examination of her. He put his hand on her shoulder and began stroking it. What exactly is he up to?!

“Cupcake, you did a fantastic job. I looked through your diploma, but it appears that you attended Las Vegas’s most out-of-date college. You irritated me.”

His chest brushed against hers, and she could feel her nipple straining against his muscular chest. Then she realized she hadn’t worn a bra with her. She took a breath and blushed.

Why was he referring to her as a cupcake?

“You don’t have any social standing. You’re merely a jobless lady in dire need of work. Do you believe you’re qualified to work for me?” His words slashed her to the core. He was insulting her, and his comments were quite hurtful. She realized she couldn’t say anything since she lacked his power.

Hearing his nasty comments hurt her heart.

“Is it okay if I leave?” She muttered something.

“You are not permitted to go, Cupcake. You must repay what you owe me.” With his strong voice, he stated. Wait. She couldn’t go since she wasn’t permitted. What was it that she owed him?!

“What exactly are you on about?! “She inquired, puzzled.

“Are you still interested in the job?! “He inquired, and she responded with a nod.

“Then you must comply with my instructions. I’ll make you regret destroying my favorite Lamborghini if you don’t do as I say. Do you understand me?!” He sounded like a ruthless killer.

“Yes, I do.” She murmured something. Her legs were trembling wildly. She trembled as his hands began to trace down her face. She could feel his hot breath on her collarbone as he proceeded to her neck. She closed her eyes and savored the sensation of his breath on her skin.

“My chauffeur will arrive at 7 p.m. to fetch you up, so be ready.” He gave the command and then took a few steps back from her, putting some distance between them.

“What should I be prepared for? What am I going to do?!” He was questioned by her.

“Just be ready; don’t ask me any questions.” He said that, his gaze piercing my soul.

“Yes, sir,” says the narrator. She bowed and rolled her eyes.

“You’re free to go.”

She was certain to inform Claudia of all that had occurred.
