Meanwhile at the Rodgers’ mansion
“Mama! It means so much to me! How could you hide that letter from me? It’s a good thing that they thought of using my alternate number. You were keeping a tag on my phone and my computer? Am I your daughter or a prisoner in this house?”
Mercy erupted like a volcano when she learnt that her mother had been personally keeping her away from her dreams.
“Do you have any idea how many people struggle to get a contract from that brand?” She was fuming.
But her mother did not lose her calm even for the split of a second.
She elegantly put her tea down and went behind the drawers and fetched some papers, throwing them on Mercy’s face.
“Did you forget, little girl, that you are not ‘everyone’. I could make you a shareholder in that brand if it means so much to you. But modeling for them is like giving your precious body to them as a clothes hanger. You are my only daughter. You share my last name
