Chapter 105
As I walked into the grand mansion, I was met with the sight of the engagement cake and decorations. My irritation rose instantly. I couldn't believe that Reina was going through with marrying Rojas. I watched as she danced with him on the floor, smiling and pretending like our son, Egan, never existed.
Like she suddenly have forgotten about him.
It was a slap in the face, and I struggled to keep my anger in check. I had warned Reina about the dangers of getting involved with Rojas, but she never listened. And now, here she was, smiling and pretending like everything was okay, like she wasn't tearing from within.
Her guts surprised me. Her carelessness even more appalling, but after being apart for years, I had no influence over her again.
I clenched my jaw as I watched them cut the cake, surrounded by a sea of guests who had no idea what was really going on. I felt like a stranger in their midst, like I didn't belong, and truthfully, I didn't.
