I could only stay silent in confusion as I listened to the woman who claimed to be Laird's boss. My eyes blinked repeatedly as I observed her closely. From her appearance, it was clear she was not a foolish or poor woman.

So why did she think her earlier statement was a normal thing coming from a career woman's mouth? Why did she seem so confident in what she said? Though I didn't believe her words, I still felt that something strange had happened.
