Sophia’s POV

Fast forward to the day we are to leave Bloodbury.

Neither of us have said anything to each other about that day. We only talked when it was necessary, like acquaintances trying to be polite. Trying our best to to maintain our composure and not lose our cool. So that we would not alert the others that we are at odds.

For example, right now..

“Did you eat? We’re gonna wolf out nonstop.” Carter sparingly said, like a monotonous robot. I could feel Luke’s whining deep inside him. He is trying to reach out to me but obviously this man would not let him even puff one word to me.

“Yeah, I did. How about you?” I asked him back so that at least we had some kind of conversation going. But most of the time, I’ll just reply with a short ‘Yeah, you?’ So I’m actually going out of my way to add some more words in there. Props to me. Want to tap myself at the back.
