Chapter 16. Awake
My whole body felt numb. I cannot even lift a finger, as it feels too heavy. I'm so tired. This much is expected, I guess. Considering I literally almost died.
The last thing I remembered was Carter's face, which had failed to keep his usual cold and nonchalant expression. A small reaction from him, huh? Not bad. My lips formed a little grin, as I failed to suppress a smile.
As I slowly opened my eyes, I looked around to see white walls surrounding me. This feels like deja vu, me lying down on a bed after getting attacked. I hoped I wouldn't get used to this, though. Only, I am not at our packhouse but at a medical facility. The school's clinic? No. It is much more wide, and there are some machines connected to my body. The clinic does not have advanced things like this. Besides, our favorite nurse ain’t here. If she was, that she-wolf would literally be all over to inspect me and everything.
