I gritted my teeth with his previous statement. That much is obvious! I want to know where exactly! But I just keep it all within myself, or else I might lose my cool and really snap out of him. Maybe I will just wait and see where on Goddess’ Woodhill will he lead us.
We turned corners after corners and stopped underneath one oak tree. I looked around, and there was no one else in sight. Just the two of us.. Alone.
My gaze landed back on the tree. It looks like it is only a few years old. Twenty, I guess. It stood so tall and proud that I muttered under my breath, “Pretty.”
“It really is, pretty.” Hans whispered.
I sneaked a peek at him, and he was looking at the tree too. And here I was thinking that he was looking at me as he said it.
I must have gone mad, because if I weren't, then I couldn’t explain my behavior in the next three seconds.
Crossing my arms as I groused, “Thought you mean me.”
He was taken aback and looked at
