'Now, you wouldn't want your first kiss with your mom as an audience, wouldn't you?' Mom's voice loomed in my head, and I jerked away from Carter. As we turned away in the same direction, at the same time, we bumped heads.
"Shit. I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Carter's heart suddenly hasten up its pace as he rubbed his left hand in my forehead.
"I'm.. I'm fine," I managed to utter. He nodded and grabbed me by the waist as he pulled me closer back to him. He faced up front and talked to mom.
"We'll be going now, Luna Anna, before it gets dark," he respectfully stated.
"Then, at least let me hug my daughter. You're going to choke her to death with that firm grip of yours." Mom chimed, and I felt her soft hands on my shoulders. Carter let out a quiet sigh and released me. I then turned around to hug my mother.
