Chapter 97. Pointed Fingers

The second Ainsley comes to find me in the kitchen while dragging Cambria along beside her, I know something is wrong immediately.
Voluntarily hanging out with her cousin, even if they’ve been currently on better terms since Cambria stuck up for us staying here, isn’t something Ainsley’s seemed keen on doing.
Not to mention our bond is wild with anxiety.
“What happened?” I ask over the bond.
Ainsley shakes her head at me. “Not here. Come on.”
I’m led out to another room off-shooting from the kitchen. It’s another small office, but this one has windows facing out toward the back of the property. Cambria collapses onto one of the couches, dust kicking up and choking her momentarily.
“Ugh,” she says as she waves her hand in front of her face.
Ainsley whirls around to face me. “The Elders and Cambria’s father are planning on mutiny against us.”
