Jordan just looked up and grinned, “I wanted you to have a pleasant surprise.”

Jack nodded as if he understood or maybe he agreed it was a pleasant surprise. I wanted to ask but I knew we were in the middle of the scene and one of Jordan’s rules was unless it was an emergency, or I didn’t understand an order I was not to speak without permission.
