Book 1: Chapter 54

“Mia!” called Lizzie happily when I got into the room.

Her voice still sounded rough and after she said hi she started coughing. I looked around her room in awe, it was immaculate, an unusual event for Lizzie especially when she was sick. The only mess I could see was near the garbage can and that was from used tissues. I raised my eyebrows at her and nodded my head to the housekeeper that was currently in the attached bathroom cleaning up.

“Yes, apparently she’s not here just to keep me in bed. She says she wanted to clean my house for something to do. But I think she’s bucking for a bonus from Jordan,” Lizzie said sending a glare Mrs. Lichten’s way.

Mrs. Lichten returned it without hesitation causing Lizzie to stick her tongue out at her. To her credit, Mrs. Lichten stuck hers out right back and began cussing her out, I’m assuming, in German.
