He had no choice but to stay in the meantime while looking for someone better than Doctor Anthony to take care of his grandfather.

He drove away from the villa without saying anything; he needed a drink and knew where to begin.

He drove himself to Anastasia’s flat, not in the best of spirits. He couldn’t stop thinking about Doctor Anthony and how his grandfather had hidden everything from him.

He could sense something wasn’t right when he saw how happy his grandfather was after visiting the doctor in his chamber.

He recalls his grandmother’s comments: “He would one day return my kid,” but she never said who or even his name. He knows he can’t have him around or in the same house as the man he abandoned; his grandfather may act wise and convincing, but he knows he won’t let go.

He waits for a call from Bruno, whom he had dispatched back to the old man’s villa to acquire a sample from the old man and the doctor.

He knows what he’s asking for is unla
