Maya sat in the manor's garden with a book, scanning through words without absorbing them. Despite caressing the printed words on the brown paper, her mind remained elsewhere.

In disbelief, she questioned how she ended up in this situation. A stupid piece of paper bearing her signature had wreaked havoc on her life.
