She missed Abby anyway; even a minute would be something with her. She only hoped it would be at her place, so they stayed up telling each other dry jokes and boring life stories.
She smiled again, looking forward to the cab driver, who hadn't said anything since she entered. In the mood for small talk, she asked, "Where are we going?"
