Chapter 10. A Rogue Silver
Chris's POV
A coronation should be a joyful thing but mine wasn’t. I always looked at the day with love but as it came, everything annoyed me to the bone.
There was still no news of Rih’s body, but it was speculated to have been beaten by fishes since a farmer had seen blood in the river once.
That must have been painful and my heart would always be heavy about it, a guilt I couldn’t remove. More painful than rejecting my mate.
I looked ahead at the Alphas and leaders of packs that congratulated me.
The Black Rose Pack was next and only Jake Justin and his warriors attended.
“Oh Alpha King, congratulations!” he smirked, stretching his hand for a shake.
I took it nonchalantly and shook it but I did notice the little squeeze he gave my hand. “Why didn’t your mother attend?”
His eyes shone. “You know I have a mother? Or was this a new knowledge you amassed as the new Alpha King?”
