Honestly, I didn’t have the strength to kill Logan, but he shouldn’t know that.

Jaden’s wolf had tired me out, my sides still hurt like hell, and the run I just had wearied me.

And Logan wouldn’t let me kill him without a fight. It was the fight I didn’t have the strength for.

I let go of him. “Props to whoever did that to your neck. Chris?”

He turned to me and rolled his eyes. “Yes.”

Looking at him, being calm and not bloodthirsty, and in human form, he had the same gentleness like when I met him first.

His hair was arranged, his green eyes looked quite attractive, and it was like whatever demon that possessed him wasn’t in control.

“I could kill you,” I said when it seemed I stared too long.

He smirked. “Same. But we both don’t have the strength to.”

He knew I couldn’t kill him? “I will next time we meet!” I blurted, annoyed at my own weakness.
