Chris’s POV

After Your Silver left, I left the courtroom through the other door and sped to Black Hills Market.

It was just my attempt to avoid a repeat of the argument with Sasha and Vanessa.

They were back to their old habit of coaxing me into making decisions that’d favor and punish who they’d like.

It was usually the maids, and I thought Vanessa had outgrown that and become more mature.

Her best friend’s return brought everything back.

I took off my royal garments and turned them inside out.

It was a darker shade of brown inside, so I wore it on top to assume a less recognizable appearance.

Not many wolves in Black Hills knew what I looked like. I could easily walk around and get some well-deserved peace.

“Till someone recognizes you and throws stones at you.” Zeke scoffed.
