Chapter 36. Love Me Like You Do

Adam wanted to surprise Mariah, so he specifically asked Pete to not tell Mariah of his arrival.

“Hi,” Adam said softly and smiled while leaning against the door of his room.

Mariah recognized this voice, she would have recognized this voice anywhere and his scent was encrypted in Mariah’s head, how could she ever forget the scent of the man who makes her feel special, who is her safe place. Mariah jumped and rushed towards Adam to hug him.

For a moment, Adam was startled as he hadn’t seen this side of Mariah. She was now accepting to truly love herself and others. Adam felt like he was the happiest man in the world, he embraced Mariah in his arms tightly.

He was afraid that if he didn’t hold her tight enough, she would disappear.

“I missed you so much,” Adam whispered and Mariah blushed at his words.

“I missed you more,” she replied and pulled away to give Adam a kiss on the cheek.

Adam wasn’t expecting it, he looked at Mariah in disbelief
