Chapter 40. Twist of Fate

Adam’s world turned upside down when Mariah, delivered the heartening news that his father’s condition was improving.

“Adam!” Mariah barged into his office, trying to catch her breath.

Adam quickly left whatever he was doing and rushed towards where she was standing.

“My love! Is everything okay?” Adam asked with his eyes full of concern.

“Your father… Adam,” Mariah’s voice cracks as she delivers the news, “he’s awake.”

“That’s impossible, it’s been years” Adam tries to control his emotions.
