Chapter 45. Grief
Just as he was leaving the extravagant jewelry store, his phone buzzed on the table. It was Nurse Sophia from the hospital, the bearer of news that would shatter his world. His heart raced as he answered the call, his hand trembling slightly.
“Adam,” Nurse Sophia’s voice was somber, carrying a weight that sent a shiver down his spine. “I’m so sorry to inform you that your father has passed away.”
