Chapter 152

I couldn't sleep after Uche kissed me last night. It was hard to sleep when the only thoughts visiting my head were what if it had been like if the kiss had lasted longer.

It left me wondering if he was unable to sleep like me last night. Or if he was just checking if he still felt anything for me. What if he didn't feel anything like I did after we kissed? Could that be why I was meeting with his assistant and not him?

All that thought led me to ask his assistant: "Is Uche still around? Or has he returned to M-city?" 

She lifted her eyes to me slowly with a weird look before briefly looking over at Pearl, then back at me.

"Mr Okonkwo has left for M-city, he asked me to conclude things here. Please read through the files thoroughly and let me know if you're okay with the terms stated within. If you're not, I'll refer them back to our lawyer."

I sighed and took the papers from her. He was back in M-city? Just like that? Maybe he was drunk last night
