Chapter 158

"Mrs Walle's nephew, yes," I answered plainly.

"You've known him before Darcy introduced him yesterday?" I sighed inwardly because it seemed he did not just see him, he heard us talk.

"Yeah, kinda." I fumbled.

"Is he an ex?" He asked and my eyes popped out of my face.

"No," I was quick to answer."We're just friends."

Uche nodded, but it felt like he didn't believe it. His smile had left his lips long ago, and now, there wasn't even a frown or any expression to tell what replaced the playfulness he woke up with this morning.

"Well, he's here this early in the morning, begging you to hear him out, so I thought..." He shrugged."Anyways, I'll come pick you up by eleven." He came closer so I stood on my toes to kiss his lips, but he had gone and kissed my cheeks. I smiled lightly as I watched him walk to his car.

I dragged my palms down my face after he left. None of what happened went well. I went inside to find out that Pearl wasn't home yet.
