Shit. His mom. Wasn’t it a little too early for the meet-your-parents stage? I listened carefully, I could hear some shuffling and then a groan.

“Mom!” Damien almost yelled, “She isn’t here. I just dropped her home!”

“Don’t lie to me,” I heard his mom say. I could hear their footsteps coming closer. I did the only sane thing I could think of. I jumped from the bed and ran into the bathroom, locking it.
