I knew something was wrong. I knew it the moment Damien’s eyes scanned the neighborhood when we went out. When he kept looking in the rearview mirror when we drove. “Are you sure?” I asked, not believing him.
He turned his eyes towards me just for a second, before looking back at the road. “Yes Hanna, don’t stress it.”
“If you say so,” I mumbled, showing him that I didn’t believe him.
