Chapter 7

“What the hell?” Rick groaned and I was pissed as hell. All this running crap and moving away from home and we couldn’t mate? I was honestly pissed.

“Let’s try again,” he suggested but suddenly I felt empty. I didn’t want to. I couldn’t do it again. I shook my head and pushed him off me. I lay back on the bed in the cheap motel room. I got up and dressed.

“What are you doing?” Rick asked cautiously.

I turned around to look at him.

“We obviously can’t mate so there is no point in staying here. Running away from home for something that can’t happen is not something I can do. I’m sorry.”

“We can meet the alpha and find out why we can’t mate,” Rick said and I just shook my head at him. I couldn’t do that. All that Rick made me feel was empty. There was no love now. Not even lust.
