Chapter 25

The girl that never grew into a woman, the one that hurt so much, she only knew one language. Caelum wanted us to find common ground, switching between all the languages in my file when he had at least two bottles of liquor. He didn't try one language, the one language I'm fluent in, pain.

At some point in the night, he decided to quit trying, and he fell asleep somewhere around an hour ago. I've been watching him sleep, I hate it, it's not a sight I can easily replace with another. My phone sits on the table beside him, along with his, he's been monitoring for calls and text messages, I've gotten none so far. Except from the building manager, who called to confirm my payment.

A phone begins to vibrate on the table, startling Caelum out his sleep, “Fuck.” he murmurs, his gaze instantly finding mine before drifting to the table where the phone no longer vibrates. Caelum reaches to grab the phone and rises, at the same time his phone begins to vibrate again.
