I wrapped myself in a towel and left the bathroom. The house was quiet, and Ethan’s absence only added to my sense of isolation. I had no idea where he could be, and I was too tired to search the entire house.

I made my way to the bedroom, slipping under the covers, but sleep eluded me. The heated argument played on a loop in my mind, leaving me feeling lost and unsettled.

I noticed my phone on the nightstand. I considered reaching out to Tia and Emily, seeking their comfort and apologizing, but the tension with Ethan held me back. My heart wavered between my friends and the man I had started to have feelings for, leaving me in a state of confusion.

I picked up my phone, my finger hovering over Tia’s contact. My longing for their support warred with the fear of worsening the situation with Ethan or probably losing him.
