My mind was still fixed on the fact that I lashed out on her for no reason as I settled into my study. I felt guilty about what I’d said, and I couldn’t shake the guilt that ate at me. I needed to focus, to immerse myself in work, to push aside the emotional trauma and concentrate on the task at hand.
Turning on my laptop, its screen brightening the room, I sat up straighter, getting ready for the online meeting with potential investors.
With a deep breath, I joined the conference call that was scheduled for this time.
“Good evening, gentlemen. Thank you for taking the time to join this meeting. I appreciate your interest in our company and your willingness to explore this investment opportunity.”
The investors, all experienced and looking for a good investment, asked about the market, the risks involved, and how the business would run smoothly.
