I stared blankly at my phone, contemplating whether or not to have him on the other line, it was hard to actually bring myself to do it.

There’s no need for me to bring a plus one, I mean, it isn’t mandatory

Yet, the thought of being the only one who would stand alone at the reunion made my stomach churn, I would be talk of their group for years to come, and maybe it’s haut me forever too.

“Bye miss Ria” Jacinth and Tobias said in unison with a smile and a light wave as they walked through the door.

“Bye.. see you tomorrow” I said, waving them goodbye as well, forcing a smile as I held onto my phone, tapping it lightly on my palm.

“Maybe there’s no need for me to overthink this.. I’ll just deliver the pastries and come back home, okay” I muttered to myself as I loosened the apron, placing it over the hanger as I proceeded to lock up for the day.
