Chapter 19

Since the plane took off, I had just been staring at the sky outside through my black sunglasses that I hadn't taken off since leaving Zack's house. Besides me, Levi hadn't said much except when the flight attendant asked. He knew I could not be disturbed.

I lost Zack, the best love I had ever had, the most amazing man in my life.

I could have stayed with my mom and dad in Jakarta or with Zack's family, who welcomed me with open arms, but I decided to return to Bali. Right then, all I wanted was to be close to Zack, and the only place that could comfort me was our apartment in Petitenget. That was our sanctuary. Not to mention Zack's belongings were still there, intact and untouched. I would feel closer to him there than in Jakarta or Bandung. Whether it made it harder for me to let him go was a matter for later.

"Glenn, please eat, even a little."
