Chapter 59

I was checking on Levi, who was still staring at the ceiling even though the lamp beside his bed had been turned off. My conversation with Gio last night made me realize how much time and opportunities I had wasted. What if Levi and Marcus had stayed together? I would regret letting my pride and ego got in the way of my feelings and the chance to be happy.

And it reminded me of something I hadn’t thought about in a while. “I want to ask you something,” I said while looking at him.

Levi murmured, but his attention was still glued to the roof. “Do you remember mumbling my name in the hospital when you had the dengue?”

He immediately turned on the lamp beside his bed before looking at me. “What did you say?”

I repeated what I had said, speaking more softly, while Levi seemed surprised and in disbelief.

“Are you sure, Glenn? Because this is the first you asked about it.”
