I turned in his direction and shook my head.

"No, is not that. What happens…

"Uncle Blaz once saw one of those creatures," an elderly lady whispered. I think it was one of Mason's aunts. She pointed in the direction of a guy with black hair who was sitting in the chair across from him." They had to take him to a psychologist to try to calm him down and get him to talk again.

“ What exactly did you see? asked the one he thought was Uncle Blaz.

"I…" I swallowed hard. I looked at Mason to help me come up with a good excuse but he wasn't looking my way, instead he was focused on his phone. I'm sure it was someone trying to prank them.

I bit my lip.

I was terrible at making excuses. Why did Colton have to do that to me right in the middle of a family gathering?

Wow, he would have accepted that he did it in his apartment... even in the bathroom, or at least in a place with four walls and zero audience (
