The ride home seemed to last an eternity, and I couldn’t contain the anxiety and fear that consumed me. At the same time, Jaewon remained by my side, firmly holding my hand, which caused a jumble of emotions in me. I should have been happy for him to have the assurance of being by my side again, but his face also bore a mixture of concern and sadness, which broke me completely.
