“I still can’t believe she went and got you that way,” Evan said.
“I wonder what the men in the compound thought of a woman stealing a slave?” Kein asked.
I had a feeling the men had not seen her take me at all. I think their attention was all on the women coming after them and Nu-reeh had been, for lack of a better term, off their radar, thanks to her implant. I still wasn’t sure how to explain that to my men.
Damien and his brothers continued to talk pleasantly with Hannah. Sleeping somewhere different would be fun, they told her. She might even see different things, especially above the cloud line.
