Chapter 63. Shocked to Her Wits

Dizziness washed over me as my back connected to the ground. I laid there for a while, unaware of the people who came around to run some check up on me.
"Are you alright?" Hugo's voice penetrated sharply into my subconscious state, and a sharp pain tore through my head.
I mustered strength and sat upright while a woman whom I remembered to be Sheila's maid massaged my chin. The pain was raw, but there was no way I'd allow that lady to win, even if it meant me using my last breath to fight.
"I'm alright, thanks. Let's continue." I replied, got up and wiped the dust from my slacks.
Hugo helped me up and took his hand off my arm when he saw how determined I was to continue the fight. "Are you sure you can continue?"
I nodded, "Of course I can." I replied confidently and began to move away from him, but he held my hands.
