"Are you alright?" I asked Tania who had suddenly sank onto the rocky ground and kept sucking in air.

She shook her head slowly, licking her lips, which had become chapped because of the harshness of the weather.

We'd been in this same situation for two weeks since we left Boomsvalley. I was trying to be strong for the both of us even though my legs were about to give out. If someone had told me that I'd be in such a situation some weeks back, I wouldn't have believed it.

"Water... I need water." She whispered, her voice breezy and almost inaudible.

I flashed a cursory glance around the thick forest we found ourselves in, which consisted of tall trees, grasses that were long enough to block us from seeing what was ahead. If not for the improvised knife I made with a stick and a metal blade, we wouldn't be able to pass through.
