"Well... There's nothing we can do about that for now. Just wait for Ayla's transformation." I spoke and took a deep breath, staring at the ceiling, feeling my heart squeeze, not knowing how long it would take and whether the woman I loved would come back very different from the one I had learned to love.
"Of course, but..." Victor approached Ghost. "Tell me, Ghost, are you willing to kneel before me and Soren?"
"Yes and no..." Ghost replied, and I stared at him intensely. "If my bond with Ayla is in place, I'll wait for her decision on whether to accept me. As long as Ayla rejects me, then yes, I'll get down on my knees and swear my loyalty and allegiance to you and serve you, but if Ayla accepts me, then no, I'll want to be treated as an equal."
"Fair enough," I said, I might not like the idea of sharing Ayla with Ghost and Klaus, but if that's her decision, then I'll be the one to deny it.
