"You're genuinely beginning to frighten me, Gabrielle!" Mom's furious voice echoed through my office as she stormed in with her arms tightly crossed. The intensity in her facial expression left no room for doubt.

"What have I possibly done wrong now?" I replied, my tone dripping with impatience, provoking a frown from her.
